SUBARU TIMING BELT SERVICE
Popular Subaru engines are interference engines... which means that if the timing belt fails, the valves may stop in a position that will interfer with the pistons. This is usally catastrophic. The resultant collision of engine internals at high speed and high pressure under combustion, will typically cause so much damage as to trash the engine.
This nasty scenario can be avoided simply and easily by replacing the belt before it fails. Even though Subaru calls for 105,000 mile replacement, we recommend that it be done at about 90,000 miles, sooner for heavy use or even sooner if engine oil leaks on the belt.
Dealers typically offer a "Cam Belt Service" which will leave your car vunerable to idler pulley or water pump failure. We install only complete timing kits. Protect the car you rely on!
